WHAT IS A ROCKWOOL PANEL?
A Rockwool sandwich panel consists of a mineral or stone-wool insulation core between metal facings. It is used where fire performance, thermal insulation and acoustic performance are important considerations.
The panel system combines an insulated core with protective metal skins to create a practical solution for walls, partitions, enclosures and other building applications. The appropriate panel construction depends on the project’s application, dimensions, performance requirements and installation details.
Project-specific selection matters: Panel thickness, facing, joint/profile, fire performance and other technical parameters should be confirmed against the project specification before quotation.
Mineral / Stone-Wool Core
Rockwool provides the mineral-wool insulation core within the sandwich panel construction.
Metal Facings
Metal facings protect the insulated core and form the finished panel surfaces.
Performance-Focused
Rockwool panels are considered for projects where fire, thermal and acoustic requirements are important.

FIRE-RATED ROCKWOOL PANELS – 30, 60, 90, 120 MINUTES & HIGHER FIRE-PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
SUPERSUN provides Rockwool insulated panel solutions for projects where fire resistance is an important requirement. Depending on the selected panel construction, thickness, joint system, installation and applicable tested or certified assembly, different fire-performance requirements can be evaluated.
This can include requirements such as 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes, as well as higher fire-performance requirements where technically applicable.
Customers may refer to these requirements as fire-rated Rockwool panels, fire-resistant Rockwool panels, fireproof Rockwool panels or Rockwool fire wall panels. The appropriate system should be selected against the project’s actual specification.
Important: The final fire rating is project-specific and must be confirmed against the applicable tested/certified panel assembly and project specification.
30 MIN | 60 MIN | 90 MIN | 120 MIN | 180 MIN | 240 MIN
1 HOUR | 1.5 HOURS | 2 HOURS | 3 HOURS | 4 HOURS
30–60 Minute Requirements
For projects requiring shorter-duration fire-performance criteria, the panel construction and tested assembly should be matched to the specified requirement.
90–120 Minute Requirements
For higher fire-performance requirements, panel thickness, joints, installation and the applicable tested or certified assembly need to be evaluated together.
Higher Fire-Performance Requirements
Requirements beyond 120 minutes can also be discussed where technically applicable and supported by the relevant tested or certified system.
FIRE-RATED DOORS – 30, 60, 90, 120, 180 & HIGHER MINUTE OPTIONS
SUPERSUN also provides fire-rated door solutions for projects requiring specified fire-performance doorsets. Door configuration, rating, size and applicable tested/certified assembly are evaluated according to project requirements.
Fire-Rated Door Configurations
Options can include single or double leaf doors, project-specific dimensions, vision panels, panic bars or emergency-exit hardware, subject to the required specification.
Important: A door does not receive a fire rating simply because it contains Rockwool. The final fire rating must correspond to the applicable tested or certified complete doorset, including the door leaf, frame, core, seals, glazing, hardware and installation requirements.
CLEAN ROOM DOORS
Clean room doors are an important part of a controlled-environment enclosure. SUPERSUN clean room solutions include compatible door options for applications where cleanability, suitable sealing and project-specific room requirements need to be considered.
Options can be evaluated for pharmaceutical, food-processing, laboratory and other controlled environments, including single or double leaf configurations and vision-panel requirements.

ACOUSTIC ROCKWOOL PANELS
Acoustic Rockwool panels are used for industrial and noise-control applications where mineral-wool insulated construction is part of the project requirement.
They can be considered for factories, machinery areas, generator rooms, plant rooms, industrial partitions and selected acoustic enclosures. Final acoustic performance depends on the complete panel construction, joints, installation and project conditions.
ROCKWOOL WALL PANELS
Rockwool wall panels provide insulated wall construction for industrial and specialised buildings. They can be considered for factories, warehouses, PEB buildings, industrial walls, partitions, fire-sensitive areas and acoustic applications.
The appropriate panel construction depends on the required core specification, thickness, facing, joint system and project performance requirements.
ROCKWOOL ROOF PANELS
Rockwool roof panels are used for insulated roofing applications in industrial and commercial buildings. They can be considered for industrial roofing, factory buildings, warehouses, PEB structures and other commercial or industrial buildings.
Roof panel selection should be based on the required core, thickness, facing, profile, joint system and project-specific performance requirements.
